Barely four months after the launch of the Redmi K90 series, we are here to give you the very first details on the Redmi K100.

According to details uncovered by XiaomiTime, the company is already preparing its next generation of flagship-style phones under the Redmi K100 series. There are currently two models in the works, called the Redmi K100 and K100 Pro Max.

Both devices are currently in early development, but XiaomiTime has managed to extract the internal codenames and model numbers of the devices. The K100 is said to carry the codename “athens” with the internal designation Q11, while the Pro Max version reportedly goes by “songyuan” and Q11X.

A rebrand as Poco F9 Pro / Ultra

If Xiaomi follows its usual strategy, these devices will not stay exclusive to China. Previous Redmi K-series phones have often been rebranded for global markets under Xiaomi’s Poco label, and the same pattern is expected this time.

The current speculation is that the Redmi K100 could eventually launch internationally as the Poco F9 Pro, while the K100 Pro Max might arrive as the Poco F9 Ultra. Nothing has been officially confirmed, but it would be consistent with how Xiaomi has handled similar releases in the past.

Redmi K90 Pro Max

One concrete detail that has emerged concerns the processors. Both phones are expected to use Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chips. The Redmi K100 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the more premium K100 Pro Max could debut with an even newer platform, currently referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

Of course, all of this information is preliminary. The Redmi K90 series is still fresh on the market, and a full announcement for the K100 lineup is likely many months away.
